Acne is a skin disorder that emerges from the overproduction of oil by the skin’s oil glands. Whilst the oil normally lubricates the skin, it can sometimes get trapped in blocked oil ducts and appears as a spots. Hormonal changes can also cause the enlargement and obstruction of sebaceous glands in the skin. This typically results in painful, inflamed lesions that appear on the face, chest, back, limbs and virtually any other part of the body.
Acne Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatments utilise a high intensity light source to penetrate through the skin tissue and destroy acne bacteria quickly and easily. Just 6 - 12 treatments over a two to three month period will improve the appearance of skin as well as evening out skin tone and producing collagen.
